LISTENING WITH OUR HEARTS, HEALING WITH OUR HANDS
Approximately 55 percent of cats and dogs in the United States are either overweight or obese. These are staggering statistics of a preventable condition. Overweight and obesity predispose our pets to developing chronic conditions such as musculoskeletal problems including Degenerative Joint Disease and endocrine issues such as Diabetes mellitus. It also initiates a vicious cycle of reduced exercise tolerance and increased body weight. There can be many factors that lead to developing obesity such as consuming more calories than are required, reduced activity and exercise, and low levels of thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism). Please speak with one of our concerned team members to help set up an appointment for your pet. With a combination of a physical examination, blood test(s), appropriate diet selection and feeding schedule, and an exercise program, we can achieve our goal together.
