LISTENING WITH OUR HEARTS, HEALING WITH OUR HANDS
A microchip is an integrated electronic circuit that is implanted under the skin of different species of animals and birds, for identification purpose. This chip, which uses radio frequency identification technology to function, is the approximate size of a large grain of rice. In dogs and cats, this is implanted under the skin on the back, between the shoulder blades, with the help of a needle and syringe. Neither anesthesia nor sedation is required. The microchip is detected by sweeping a microchip reader over the general area where the chip is implanted. Microchips are now mandatory for all pets travelling abroad. The microchip that we use is ISO (International Organization for Standardization) compliant. Once you have your pet microchipped, please do not forget to register them with the respective company.
