LISTENING with our HEARTS, Healing with our Hands
Our grooming services are basic and include clipping the coat, sanitary trims, filing nails and baths (regular and medicated baths). – Medicated baths constitute an important part of our treatment protocol(s) for certain medical and dermatologic conditions.
If you are planning a vacation or a business trip away from home, please contact Buena Vista Road Animal Hospital to utilize our boarding facilities for your pets. We provide spacious, clean and comfortable kennels, along with a trained and compassionate staff who is vigilant to your pets’ requirements. If your pet has special needs such as medications, food, exercise restriction / limitation, physiotherapy, our caring staff will professionally address those needs. Our boarding facility utilizes a high quality feed, which is balanced in nutrition and is an easily digestible prescription diet for our boarding guests. This type of feed diet helps reduce the incidence of stress induced diarrhea. In certain cases, your pets may have specific dietary requirements dictated by various medical conditions. If this is the case, our staff is well trained to handle and administer any of these special requirements.
To ensure the health and welfare of pets, requirements must be met prior to boarding. Vaccine / preventive health care requirements for boarding and day visits are as follow:
For our senior and geriatric patients who have certain disease conditions, they may be exempt from selective vaccines. This will be discussed with you prior to boarding. In order to ensure protection of our boarding pets, all vaccinations must be current, and should be ideally completed no less than two weeks prior to boarding. Documentation of vaccination status must be provided at the time of drop-off if services were not provided at Buena Vista Road Animal Hospital. If services must be provided while boarding, charges will incur additional to boarding charges. Because boarding pets are under the care and supervision of our veterinarians, a doctor’s consultation and examination is required annually as a minimum standard.
Please allow extra time when dropping off and picking up your pet, as we verify you pet’s medical records and documentation. If you appoint another person to collect your pet after boarding, you must provide written authorization for the release of your pet to that individual. Photo identification must be presented at the time of pickup.
